Goals and Objectives

The goals of The Young Shepherds are to:

• Promote basic education in general, especially education for girls, adults, people with disabilities and orphaned children.

• Encourage parental and community involvement in educational programs.

• Promote early childhood development, adult education and literacy

• Initiate and promote short-term and long-term vocational and life skills training programs

• Provide textbooks, exercise books, school uniforms, school bags and other school materials

• Promote health services, hygiene, nutrition and sanitation in schools.

• Help in reconstruction and construction of schools, health care centers, churches and infrastructures

• Promote short-term food security in emergency situations.

• Provide in-service training for teachers, educational administrators and health care workers.

• Encourage community in income generating activities through promotion of microfinance small businesses.
